Rainbow Bridge! A name that sounds so beautiful. In fact, this bridge located in Tokyo is as beautiful as its name. Aside from being a crossing route, the Rainbow Bridge is also a tourist attraction that is famous for its beauty. Of course, the beauty of this bridge can only be seen at night, where the bridge will be illuminated with colorful lights like a rainbow.
The bridge was originally named Tokyo Minato renraku-bashi or Port of Tokyo Connector Bridge, which is part of the Kousoku 11 Gou daiba-sen wa or Shuto Expressway No 11 Daiba Route. The name Rainbow Bridge was given later by the public who were amazed by its beauty.
Construction of the bridge began in January 1987, with Kawasaki Heavy Industries acting as the contractor. Construction of the bridge was completed in 1993, and officially opened on August 26, 1993.
The Rainbow Bridge is a suspension bridge built across Tokyo Bay, connecting the Shibaura pier area with the artificial island of Odaiba. The bridge is at a height of 52 m above sea level. The total length is 798 m, the width is 49 m, and the middle span is 570 m. This suspension bridge is supported by a pair of towers as high as 126 meters.

Hundreds of lights were installed on the towers, cables and underside of the bridge, to make it look beautiful at night. A total of 520 lights were installed on the bridge, including 152 colorful lights on the bridge supporting cables. The lamps use solar energy.
At night, the bridge lights will turn on, and the Rainbow Bridge will be illuminated by various lights coming from the lamps. The combination of various colored lights will give a beautiful rainbow light effect on the bridge at night.
